Travel and Quality of Life
Move around the world faster, die less painfully, and let the server clean up the loot and junk.
Status: LIVE — the Emerald Dreamway, starter and engineering gliders, mount training, instance respawns, Junk to Gold, and AoE loot are enabled. The
.repaircommand is Disabled. Dreamway routes have no NPC staff.
At a glance
- Emerald Dreamway: free, level 1, four Great Tree routes, 2-second activation, no cooldown.
- Beginner’s Gliders: every new character gets 50; each successful use consumes one.
- Glide time: 3 minutes; 3-minute shared cooldown; 40 yd/s forward speed.
- Glider maps: Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Outland, and Northrend. Dungeons and battlegrounds are allowed; arenas are not in the allowed map list.
- Mounts: Apprentice Riding at 30, Journeyman at 60, flying skills at 70, Cold Weather Flying at 77.
- Dungeon/raid release: respawn at the instance entrance with 50% health.
- Junk to Gold: on by default; sells only newly looted grey items.
- AoE loot: on by default; collects eligible corpses within 55 yards, up to 10 additional corpses.
.junktogoldand.aoeloot: session toggles, not saved preferences..repair: disabled. Repair at a vendor or repair mount.- No
.dreamwayor.glidercommand. Use the pedestal or the item.
How to use travel and convenience
- Use the Dreamway at level 1. Click a Great Tree pedestal in Duskwood, Ashenvale, Feralas, or the Hinterlands.
- Stay still for two seconds. Moving more than 0.5 yards cancels the activation.
- Cross the hub. The Verdant Fields connects all four trees in both directions. There are no vendors, trainers, or innkeepers there yet.
- Glide from level 1. Use a Beginner’s Glider from your bag. It works from the ground, while falling, or while already rising.
- Aim before you launch. The glider gives one forward impulse and a small upward launch; it does not grant sustained flight.
- Buy a reusable engineering glider if you run out of starters. Schematics are sold by the three vendors below.
- Train riding at 30, 60, and 70. Buy the mount separately from the riding skill.
- Prepare for Northrend with Cold Weather Flying at 77, or the earlier Tome of Cold Weather Flight at 68.
- Release inside dungeons and raids to return to the entrance at half health instead of running from the graveyard.
- Toggle junk sales with
.junktogold offbefore looting grey gear you want to keep. - Toggle AoE loot with
.aoeloot offif you prefer to open each corpse individually. - Repair before you queue.
.repairis disabled, so visit a repair vendor.
Emerald Dreamway
The Dreamway is a free four-way travel hub built into the classic Great Trees.
| Great Tree | Zone | Continent | Pedestal entries |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twilight Grove | Duskwood | Eastern Kingdoms | 990001 / 990002 |
| Bough Shadow | Ashenvale | Kalimdor | 990003 / 990004 |
| Dream Bough | Feralas | Kalimdor | 990005 / 990006 |
| Seradane | Hinterlands | Eastern Kingdoms | 990007 / 990008 |
How it works
- Minimum level 1. No attunement, quest, item, or cooldown.
- Two-way routes. Each tree has an entrance pedestal and a return pedestal in the Verdant Fields.
- Two-second cast. The activation uses a nature-themed cosmetic cast.
- Movement limit: more than 0.5 yards during the cast cancels the teleport.
- Eligibility is checked at the start and end. Entering combat, dying, or entering a vehicle during the cast fails it.
- Restrictions: cannot activate while in combat, dead, or in a vehicle.
- Shared world map: Emerald Dream map
169is no longer instanced. Players in the hub can see each other. - Graveyard: the Verdant Fields has a spirit healer.
- No services yet: no innkeeper, vendor, reagent vendor, or trainer in the hub.
Route notes
- Duskwood ↔ Verdant Fields is the shortest route for Stormwind and Elwynn characters.
- Ashenvale ↔ Verdant Fields serves northern Kalimdor.
- Feralas ↔ Verdant Fields serves southern Kalimdor and provides a fast link toward Silithus and Un’Goro.
- Hinterlands ↔ Verdant Fields links the northern Eastern Kingdoms and is useful for Hinterlands, Western Plaguelands, and Scholomance travel.
- The hub is not a portal room. You still need normal flight paths, boats, zeppelins, or class portals for destinations outside the four trees.
Goblin Gliders
Gliders are short-duration personal glides, not flying mounts. They use a custom movement spell and require the matching WarcraftXL client support.
Beginner’s Glider
- Item: Beginner’s Glider
981316. - Grant: every newly created character receives one stack of 50.
- Existing characters: no retroactive grant.
- Level: 1.
- Quality: common; binds on pickup.
- Consumption: one glider per successful use.
- Cooldown: fixed 3 minutes, shared with reusable gliders. Switching items cannot bypass it.
- Persistence: the cooldown survives relog.
- Refill: the starter stack is not replenished on login.
Shared glide behavior
| Property | Live value |
|---|---|
| Horizontal speed | 40 yd/s |
| Initial upward launch | 15 yd/s |
| Natural rise | about 5.8 yards above deployment |
| Terminal descent | 7 yd/s |
| Duration | 180 seconds |
| Cooldown | 180 seconds |
| Allowed maps | 0, 1, 530, 571 |
| Dungeons allowed | Yes |
| Battlegrounds allowed | Yes |
| Arenas allowed | No — map not in the allowed list |
| Combat allowed | Yes |
| Requires outdoors | No |
| Line-of-sight check | Yes |
| Landing confirmation | 200 ms |
- One impulse per activation. There is no second airborne boost, renewed lifetime, or hovering.
- Steering: normal keyboard or mouse turning. No ascend or descend input.
- Deployment: ground, falling, or already rising from another jump effect.
- Mounted use: the mount is removed before deployment. A failed eligibility check keeps the mount.
- Water: deployment is refused while in, on, or walking on water. Landing in water stows the glider.
- Ends on: death, teleport, logout, map change, mounting after deployment, vehicle entry, incompatible control state, cancellation, or expiry.
- Area transitions: ordinary same-map area and progression-phase changes preserve the glide. Teleports and map transfers end it.
- Feather Fall: unrelated slow-fall auras remain valid.
Reusable engineering gliders
| Glider | Item | Schematic | Engineering | Vendor | Schematic price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ironwing Glider | 981310 | 981313 | 300 | Xizzer Fizzbolt 11185, Everlook | 25 gold |
| Felweave Glider | 981311 | 981314 | 350 | Viggz Shinesparked 19661, Shattrath | 100 gold |
| Frostwind Glider | 981312 | 981315 | 425 | Bryan Landers 28722, Dalaran | 250 gold |
- Schematics are consumed when learned.
- Learning requires the listed Engineering rank. The craft spell checks the rank too.
- Using a glider requires no profession or specialization.
- Finished gliders are reusable, can be sold or traded before first use, and bind when used.
- All three variants share the same movement, duration, and cooldown as the base glider. They are cosmetic.
- The original reusable Goblin Glider is item
109076; the engineering variants are the documented player-crafted routes.
Materials:
- Ironwing: 20 Arcanite Bars, 16 Thorium Tubes, 40 Bolts of Runecloth, 40 Rugged Leather, 8 Delicate Arcanite Converters.
- Felweave: 5 Hardened Adamantite Tubes, 8 Adamantite Frames, 24 Bolts of Netherweave, 20 Heavy Knothide Leather, 8 Primal Air, 20 Handfuls of Fel Iron Bolts.
- Frostwind: 8 Titansteel Bars, 40 Saronite Bars, 32 Bolts of Frostweave, 20 Heavy Borean Leather, 12 Overcharged Capacitors, 8 Eternal Air.
Mounts and riding
Riding skills and mount items are separate purchases. The skill is per character.
| Skill | Cost | Required level | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apprentice Riding | 100 gold | 30 | 60% ground mount |
| Journeyman Riding | 1,000 gold | 60 | 100% ground mount |
| Expert Riding | 800 gold | 70 | 150% flying mount |
| Artisan Riding | 5,000 gold | 70 | 280% flying mount |
| Cold Weather Flying | 1,000 gold | 77 | Northrend flying |
| Tome of Cold Weather Flight | 5,000 gold | 68 | Earlier Northrend flying |
Mount items cost extra. Live base prices:
| Mount category | Base price |
|---|---|
| Racial apprentice mount | 10 gold |
| Racial journeyman mount | 100 gold |
| Faction expert mount | 100 gold |
| Faction artisan mount | 200 gold |
| Paladin class mount | 35 silver / 2 gold |
| Warlock class mount | 1 gold / 10 gold |
| Druid class mount | 3.4 gold / 20 gold |
| Death Knight class mount | 100 gold |
- No flying at 60. Expert Riding is required at 70 on this realm.
- Northrend flying still needs Cold Weather Flying, even with Expert or Artisan Riding.
- The Tome of Cold Weather Flight is the level-68 alternative to waiting until 77. It costs 5,000 gold.
- Mount items have per-mount overrides. Some event, drop, and class mounts have different level or price rules. Check the tooltip after clearing a stale client
Cacheif a requirement looks wrong. - Reputation discounts can reduce vendor prices; the table shows base prices.
Dungeon and raid respawns
Easy Respawn is active in dungeons and raids only. It does not change open-world death.
- Release inside a dungeon or raid and you respawn at the instance entrance instead of the nearest graveyard.
- Health: 50% of maximum, not full.
- Open world: normal nearest-graveyard behavior.
- Icecrown Citadel has a custom outside respawn point in Northrend.
- Custom raid maps have explicit entrance respawns: Battle for the Dark Portal
901, Vanguard902, Hall of Thanes903, and Well of Eternity939. - No corpse run for covered instances.
- Still release. This is a release destination, not an in-combat automatic resurrection.
Junk to Gold
Junk to Gold sells newly looted, priced grey items automatically.
- Default: on.
- Toggle:
.junktogold off/.junktogold on. - Session-only: the setting resets on next login.
- Only new loot: it does not sweep your existing inventory, bank, equipped gear, or NPCBot equipment.
- Stack-safe: if you loot part of a stack, it sells only the new pieces.
- Retained: quest items, quest objectives, containers, loot-bearing items, refundable or tradeable items, wrapped items, zero-price items, and configured exclusions.
- Kept items: no extra custom exclusions are live; normal junk rules apply.
- Money rules: normal vendor value, including wallet cap and economic-challenge handling.
- Underdog warning: turn it off if your challenge needs grey gear retained.
- Full bags: normal pickup still needs bag space; there is no overflow mail.
AoE loot
AoE Loot collects nearby eligible corpses when you open one corpse.
- Default: on.
- Toggle:
.aoeloot off/.aoeloot on. - Session-only: the setting resets on next login.
- Range: 55 yards.
- Extra corpses: up to 10 additional corpses per opening.
- Group-aware: nearby corpses must share the clicked corpse’s recipient, group, phase, loot type, and line of sight.
- Pets and NPCBots: excluded as collection sources; NPCBot group membership does not disable the feature.
- Protected loot: round-robin ownership, master-loot reservations, rolls, won-roll items, currencies, conditional items, personal items, and group quest drops stay on their original corpses.
- Quest rows: personal quest rows are stored on the real corpse. Regular items that are quest objectives for any online group member remain on their corpse.
- Row limit: the native 18-row limit still applies. Overflow stays on the source corpse.
- Full bags: quest loot is retained on its corpse; no overflow mail is created.
- Skinnable corpses: emptied corpses can still be skinned; normal decay applies.
- Loot beams: hints follow the loot that remains.

Tips
- Dreamway first, hearthstone later. It is free, level 1, and has no cooldown. Use it for cross-continent travel before spending a hearthstone.
- Do not move during the cast. Even a small step cancels it. Stand still until the cast completes.
- Leave combat first. The Dreamway refuses combat, death, and vehicles.
- The hub is empty. There is no innkeeper or vendor yet, so repair and restock before entering.
- The hub is shared. Map
169is a normal world map now; other players can be there. - Glide from height. The glider launches up about 5.8 yards, then sinks. Starting from a cliff or tower gives you far more distance.
- It is not a flying mount. You cannot climb, hover, or extend the glide. Plan a landing.
- Do not deploy over water. Use is refused in or on water. Land on dry ground.
- Your 50 starters are finite. New characters get them; existing characters do not. A reusable engineering glider is the long-term option.
- Shared cooldown. Swapping from a beginner glider to a reusable one does not reset the 3-minute cooldown.
- Engineering variants are cosmetic. Pick the appearance you like; performance is identical.
- You can trade finished gliders. They bind when used, so a crafter can sell them.
- Train riding before buying the mount. The mount item is separate and will not work without the skill.
- No 60 flying. Expert Riding is a level-70 purchase here.
- Tome at 68 vs Cold Weather at 77. The Tome costs 5,000 gold; the skill costs 1,000 gold at 77. Decide whether early Northrend flying is worth the premium.
- Release early in a raid. You return to the entrance at 50% health, so heal before the next pull.
- ICC is the exception. Its custom respawn is outside the citadel in Northrend.
- Turn off Junk to Gold for Underdog. Grey gear can matter to that challenge.
- Junk to Gold does not clean your bags. It only handles new grey loot, and it still needs bag space.
- AoE loot respects master loot. It does not steal reserved or rolled items.
- Full bags keep loot on the corpse. Clear space before a big pull.
.repairwill not work. Repair before the dungeon, not after the first wipe.

Admin note
Live module config: EmeraldDreamway.Enable=1, Pedestals.Enable=1, Cast.Enable=1, MinimumLevel=1, AllowInCombat=0, AllowDead=0, AllowInVehicle=0, and all four routes enabled. The GO entries are 990001–990008; map 169 is made non-instanced through a map_dbc override. The module has no service NPCs yet; its README still lists innkeeper, vendor, and reagent services as unfinished. Do not add a level gate or cooldown without updating 08 — Individual progression and the overview.
GoblinGlider.Enable=1, HorizontalSpeed=40.0, LaunchVerticalSpeed=15.0, TerminalDescent=7.0, DurationMs=180000, CooldownMs=180000, AllowedMaps="0,1,530,571", DeniedAreas="", RequireOutdoors=0, AllowDungeons=1, AllowBattlegrounds=1, AllowCombat=1, CheckLineOfSight=1, LandingConfirmationMs=200, and Debug=1 (startup logging is verbose). Beginner item 981316 has a fixed 180000 ms item/spell cooldown independent of CooldownMs; do not try to remove one without the other. The module requires matching custom Spell.dbc/Item.dbc/visual data and the WarcraftXL movement extension. Goblin Glider spell chain 126389 -> 126408 validated in the startup log is the health check. Changing glider config reloads the values but ends active glides.
Mount requirements: MountRequirements.Enable=true, with live riding prices/levels Apprentice=1000000/30, Journeyman=10000000/60, Expert=8000000/70, Artisan=50000000/70, ColdWeatherFlying=10000000/77, and TomeOfColdWeatherFlight=50000000/68 (copper/level). Racial mounts are 100000/30 and 1000000/60; faction mounts 1000000/60 and 2000000/70; class mounts use their own blocks. The long OverrideMounts list sets many event/drop mounts to level 40/60/70/80 or custom prices. After changing this file, stop the worldserver and have players delete the client Cache folder, or tooltips and client-side learn checks will be stale. Disabling the module restores stock DB requirements on restart.
EasyRespawn.Active=1,2 (dungeons and raids), ResurrectPct=0.5, InstanceRespawnLocation=1 (inside the instance), OpenWorldRespawnLocation=2 (nearest graveyard), and no disabled maps. Overrides: ICC 631 → map 571 outside Icecrown; 901/902 → their entrances; 903 → -100,0,11.045; 939 → the Well of Eternity entrance. Do not add value 4 to Active unless open-world instant respawn is intended.
JunkToGold.Enable=1, Message=1, KeepItems=""; only newly looted priced grey items are sold, with exact-stack GUID/count protection, and equipment/bank/NPCBots are excluded. AOELoot.Enable=1, Message=1, Range=55.0, MaxCorpses=10, Group=1; it preserves rolls, master loot, quest provenance, and the 18-row cap. Both toggles are in-memory per login. CustomRepairCommand.Enable=0; the .repair handler still exists in cs_gear.cpp but is not available. Do not enable it without deciding whether free repairs belong in the economy.
