Dungeons and Grouping

Form a group, queue for the dungeons the realm actually allows, and fill the gaps with NPCBots.

Status: LIVE — manual groups and the Classic/TBC random Dungeon Finder are active. Limited: the random finder covers Classic and TBC only; Wrath random queues are converted to TBC. Disabled: SoloLFG, the custom daily dungeon reward tiers, and the raid browser.

At a glance

  • Random Dungeon Finder: Classic and The Burning Crusade only. Wrath random queues are converted to TBC.
  • Classic RDF: available up to level 58.
  • TBC RDF: from level 59, including at 80 for TBC dungeons and heroics.
  • Wrath dungeons: use a manual group. The random finder does not cover Wrath.
  • SoloLFG: Disabled. There is no solo-character dungeon mode and no 0.2x solo dungeon XP.
  • Custom daily dungeon rewards: Disabled. There is no custom achievement-tiered daily reward track.
  • NPCBots: owned bots can enter the Dungeon Finder with your group; they count as members. The server does not generate bots to fill a partial group.
  • Deserter: Disabled. Leaving a random dungeon does not apply the Deserter debuff.
  • Kick rules: at most 2 kicks; newly joined players are protected for 15 minutes.
  • Instance limit: up to 5 different instances per hour per account.
  • Reset time: instance resets are at 04:00 server time.
  • No raid finder or LFR. The raid browser is off; raids are manual.
  • No player reset command. There is no .reset, .instance, .dungeon, .lfg, or .sololfg command.

How to group and queue

  1. For a manual group, invite players normally. Use /invite Name, then set roles and expectations in party chat.
  2. For the random finder, open the LFG UI. The default key is I, or use the micro-menu Dungeon Finder button.
  3. Choose the available random bracket. Classic is offered through level 58; from 59 the TBC random queue is the supported path.
  4. Select your role. Tank, healer, and damage roles are checked by the LFG role screen. Be honest about your spec and gear.
  5. Add NPCBots before queueing if you want them. Bots already in your party are counted as group members; the server will not add bots later to fill empty slots.
  6. Use /readycheck before a pull. It is the fastest way to catch a disconnected player or a bot that was left behind.
  7. For Wrath dungeons, walk in. Form the group yourself, enter the portal, and use the normal summoning stone or travel routes.
  8. Check the instance limit. Five different instances per hour is an account limit; resetting and re-entering the same instance is not the same as entering five different ones, but the cap still matters for heavy farming.

What the random finder covers

The live random finder is deliberately narrower than a stock Wrath realm.

Character levelRandom queueNotes
15–58ClassicClassic dungeons up to the level-58 client cutoff
59–70The Burning CrusadeTBC normal dungeons; TBC heroics at the appropriate level
71–80The Burning CrusadeA Wrath random queue is converted to a TBC random queue
80TBC normal and heroicWrath dungeons remain manual
  • No Wrath random queue. Queueing for a Wrath random dungeon does not produce a Wrath dungeon; the request is remapped to TBC.
  • Specific dungeon entries can differ from the random rotation. The custom restriction is built around random queueing. Treat Classic/TBC as the supported RDF path and use manual groups for Wrath, especially Wrath heroics.
  • No raid browser. The dungeon browser is enabled; the raid browser is not. Raids are entered manually.
  • No LFR. There is no Looking For Raid system.
  • Seasonal holiday queues are separate. The holiday boss queue is enabled, but its LFG version is fixed at the 80 bracket. See 18 — World discoveries and events.
  • No level scaling. A dungeon uses its native level range. Only Timewalking scales a dungeon to the group; that is a separate system covered in 20 — Custom raids and endgame.

Why Wrath is manual

The realm uses the older-content finder so that Classic and TBC dungeons stay populated while a character is progressing. Wrath dungeons are still available; they are simply not part of the random queue.

This means:

  • Wrath normal dungeons are entered at their native level with a manual group.
  • Wrath heroics are level-80 content and require a manual group.
  • Wrath dungeon quests work normally.
  • Wrath dungeon loot works normally.
  • Wrath dungeon achievements work normally.
  • NPCBots can enter Wrath dungeons and raids with you.

If you are at 80 and want a quick random run, queue TBC. If you want a Wrath dungeon, form the group yourself.

SoloLFG is disabled

SoloLFG is a separate mode that lets one character enter a dungeon alone with reduced, fixed XP. It is not the normal Dungeon Finder. On this realm it is disabled.

  • No solo dungeon mode. You cannot use the SoloLFG scaling to run a dungeon by yourself.
  • No 0.2x solo dungeon XP. The fixed solo XP rate is not active.
  • No SoloLFG announcement or command. There is no player .sololfg toggle.
  • Normal RDF still groups players. A solo player can queue for the normal finder and be matched with other players.
  • NPCBots are the supported solo-ish option. Hire bots and form a manual party; do not expect the finder to create a solo instance for you.

If you want to run alone, use NPCBots and walk in. See 15 — NPCBots.

Daily dungeon rewards

The custom Daily Dungeon Rewards module is disabled. There is no achievement-tiered daily reward track, no cloned reward quest, and no custom daily badge or emblem payout from that module.

  • No custom daily dungeon reward NPC.
  • No custom tier rewards for Karazhan, Zul’Aman, Naxxramas, or Ulduar completion.
  • No custom daily reward quest chain.
  • Normal dungeon loot and normal dungeon quests still work.
  • The stock LFG interface may still show its ordinary reward quest behavior, but do not plan around a custom daily reward system. The custom tiers are off.

For loot rules and bonus rolls, see 23 — Loot and rewards.

NPCBots in dungeons and the finder

NPCBots are allowed in dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, arenas, and the Dungeon Finder. The important distinction is owned bots versus generated bots.

  • Owned bots can queue with you. If your hired bots are in your party, the finder counts them as group members. A party of you plus four bots is a full five-member group.
  • No auto-generated fill. The server does not create dungeon bots to complete a partial LFG group. If you queue with two bots and one friend, the finder still needs real players for the remaining slots.
  • Bots can fill tank, healer, and damage roles. Set their roles and commands before queueing.
  • Bots are ignored by holiday bracket selection. They do not raise the Coren or Horseman bracket.
  • Bots can enter Wrath dungeons and raids manually. They are not limited to the RDF expansion.
  • Bot commands are in 15 — NPCBots. The main commands are .npcbot, .altbot, .gearbank, and .botdoll.
  • No .npcbot spawn. That command is disabled; use the normal hire NPCs.
  • No player .npcbot fix. That is a GM command.

NPCBot group checklist

  1. Hire the bots you need before entering the LFG queue.
  2. Put them in the party and confirm their roles.
  3. Set follow, pull, and loot behavior.
  4. Queue only after the bot party is complete.
  5. If the finder is waiting for players, do not expect dungeon bots to appear.

Deserter, kicks, and repeats

  • No Deserter. The live configuration does not apply the Deserter debuff when you leave a random dungeon early.
  • Kick limit: two kicks per LFG group.
  • Kick protection: a newly joined player cannot be kicked for 15 minutes.
  • Completed heroics remain eligible. The finder can still offer a heroic dungeon that a group member has completed that day. The instance’s own lockout still applies.
  • No selection cooldown. A completed random dungeon can be selected again immediately; there is no built-in repeat delay.
  • No deserter penalty for leaving. This does not mean there are no social consequences; it means the server does not add a debuff.
  • No mail on full inventory. If you win a group roll with full bags, the item is not automatically mailed. Clear space before looting.

Instance limits and resets

  • Five different instances per hour per account. Plan heavy farming around this cap.
  • Instance reset hour is 04:00 server time. Daily heroic lockouts and raid resets follow that hour.
  • Heroic dungeons have daily lockouts. The finder’s “completed” eligibility does not remove the instance lockout.
  • Raids have their normal lockouts. Raid cooldowns are not reset by a player command.
  • No player reset command. There is no .reset, .instance reset, or equivalent for players.
  • No heroic cooldown reset. The raid cooldown reset module deliberately does not apply to heroics.
  • Raid cooldowns can reset after boss combat. That is a separate raid convenience; it does not reset heroic dungeons. See 20 — Custom raids and endgame.
  • Instance maps unload after 30 minutes empty. This is housekeeping, not a player-facing reset.
  • No level ignoring. Instance level requirements are enforced.
  • Raids can be entered without a full raid group. The raid-group requirement is relaxed, but the content is still tuned for a raid and the instance population is not scaled.

Tips

  • At 80, queue TBC for a random run. Wrath random queues are converted to TBC; do not expect a Wrath dungeon from the finder.
  • Wrath is manual. Use /invite, walk to the portal, and bring NPCBots if you need roles filled.
  • Do not queue before your bots are in the party. The server will not generate replacements for empty slots.
  • Four bots plus you is a full dungeon group. A fifth bot cannot join a five-player dungeon.
  • Use /readycheck. Bots can be left behind on a jump or a shortcut; check before a boss.
  • Leaving has no Deserter debuff. The server does not add one; the group can still report or ignore you.
  • Kick protection is 15 minutes. Do not expect to remove a new member immediately.
  • Completed heroics can still appear. The instance lockout is the real gate, not the finder’s list.
  • Watch the five-instance hourly cap. It is easy to hit when farming multiple dungeons.
  • Reset at 04:00. Daily heroics and raids do not reset at midnight.
  • No raid browser. Raids are manual, even though the raid-group requirement is relaxed.
  • No solo scaling. Use NPCBots and a manual party; SoloLFG is off.
  • Seasonal holiday LFG is fixed at 80. It is not the normal RDF bracket.
  • No custom daily reward. Do not hold a dungeon clear for a daily turn-in that does not exist.

Admin note

Finder. The live RDF.Expansion=1 setting forces random Wrath queues to TBC while leaving Classic random available through level 58. The module hooks random dungeon queueing only, so specific dungeon entries can behave differently from the random rotation; the supported player-facing claim is “Classic/TBC random, Wrath manual.” DungeonFinder.OptionsMask=5 enables the dungeon browser and seasonal boss entries, but not the raid browser. SoloLFG.Enable=0 disables the solo mode; SoloLFG.FixedXP=1 and FixedXPRate=0.2 are irrelevant while the module is off. DailyDungeonRewards.Enable=0 disables the custom achievement-tiered daily reward module; its cloned quests and tier rules are not active. If you enable it, restart the worldserver rather than hot-reloading, and update this document and index.md.

Group behavior. DungeonFinder.CastDeserter=0, LFG.MaxKickCount=2, LFG.KickPreventionTimer=900, DungeonFinder.AllowCompleted=1, DungeonFinder.DungeonSelectionCooldown=0, LFG.MailItemOnFullInventory=0, and JoinBGAndLFG.Enable=0. Instance.ResetTimeHour=4, AccountInstancesPerHour=5, Instance.IgnoreLevel=0, and Instance.IgnoreRaid=1. Heroic resets are not covered by ModResetRaidCooldowns because EnableForHeroics=0; raids use the normal lockout behavior and the raid-only cooldown reset described in 20. The instance cap and reset hour are enforced by the core, not by an addon.

NPCBots. NpcBot.Enable.DungeonFinder=1 lets owned bots in a party count as LFG members; the core rejects the queue if the bot path is disabled. NpcBot.DungeonBots.Enable=0 means no generated bots are added to partial groups. Bots remain allowed in dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, and arenas. Do not document auto-fill: there is none. If the bot or RDF configuration changes, re-test a player-plus-four-bots queue and a partial-group queue before updating the player guide.
